February Music Favourites

I have totally been inspired to do this post by one of Zoe London's most recent Youtube videos. I also struggle to have a collection of beauty/fashion products that I have been loving every month and instead I thought I'd try out letting you know my monthly music favourites as music is something I adore and I listen to such a range that it may appeal to you.

I have been enjoying such an array of artists and bands this month, some that would not usually appeal to me and others that I have enjoyed for years.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding has been somebody that irritated me as a less mature teen and I shoved her to the side when she came onto the music scene, however recently whilst actually listing to the Top 40 (yes I actually managed to listen to it!) I discovered I actually really enjoy her music and more importantly her voice. I now understand the Ellie Goulding hype and why everyone just adores her. Her voice is so soft and angelic. I have been enjoying "Outside" by Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris; it's incredibly catchy and is getting me in the mood for Spring. I also adore "Love Me Like You Do" from the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack. I haven't watched the film (yet) but I can completely understand how well it fits and the song is so emotional - I enjoy singing this to my boyfriend and cringing him out in all possible ways.

Sia

Sia has been going for a while now but she used to just collaborate with artists such as David Guetta and Flo Rida which then led me barely listening to her music because although she's great I'm not particularly keen on who she's collaborating with. This year she has focused on her own music and yes, the songs are beautiful (Chandelier and Elastic Heart) but how brilliant are the videos? I am obsessed with Maddie Zieglar's dancing - so much talent at such a young age, it completely mesmerizes me watching those videos.

Royal Blood

When I first heard Royal Blood I thought "pretty good band" - completely my sort of music but back then I did not realise there is only two members in the entire band. Two. And they can make so much noise! No wonder Foo Fighters wanted them as their support for their upcoming tours! I am obsessed with their album I listen to it on pretty much every commute to work recently and particularly love Come On Over, Ten Tonne Skeleton and Loose Change. I'm looking forward to seeing them support Foo Fighters in June and seeing them on the Main Stage at Leeds Festival in August. What an exciting year for Royal Blood.

Enter Shikari

Enter Shikari have been a real love of mine since I was around 13 years old and over the years they have progressed so much. I didn't take to their recent album too quickly, to be honest I didn't have time to listen to it properly. But now that I've actually got it on my phone I have a real chance to and I am loving Anaesthetist, it is a typical Enter Shikari track and I love it. I completely regret not seeing them in February!

What music have you been enjoying recently?

Lots of Love

  1. I don't really like Love me like you Do but after seeing the video featuring the film i've changed my mind. I haven't seen the film yet, but I do want to! I like Avicii The Nights, I bet it's a MASSIVE song in the ski resorts at the moment, proper dancing on the table music! x
