Band Power

Wednesday morning as I was sat sweating in work, realising that I had just managed to get hold of four tickets for the Foo Fighters show at Wembley, I realised how much of an impact this band has on me.

Music is a very big part of my life. From concerts to music festivals, digital mp3 files to physical disk copies. In particular, Foo Fighters hold a special place in my heart.

Isn't it mad how unbelievably amazing you can feel just from listening to your favourite song? Foo Fighter's have just released an album and every single day I listen to it to and from work and every single day I still get goosebumps.

For years I have seen "fan girls" getting slated online for just being a fan really. What's the problem in that? If somebodies talent can make someone feel so good what's wrong with being a fan?

I understand that some fandoms can get a little crazy, sometimes a little mean, but I'm talking about one person just loving a band. Just like I love the Foo Fighters.

Sometimes I look on Twitter and see people getting slated because they've just tweeted "OMG I LOVE <<INSERT BAND NAME>> SO MUCH" and they receive tweets like "that's really sad" or "get a life" or "that band is rubbish" but little do these people know what sort of power this music beholds over that person.

Foo Fighters have helped me through so much. I have listened to them since I was 11 years old when everything at home was pretty crap. I have stuck by their music every single year since then because their music is special to me. Even if my choice of music has varied over the years they have been a band I will always listen to.

They make me smile instantly and I think that's such a beautiful thing when you're listening to music.

That morning when I got those tickets I felt invincible. Next year, on the 20th June 2015, I am seeing the Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium. I am seeing them with my boyfriend who loves them but has never been able to go to a concert before. I am seeing them with my mother who loves them just as much as I do. I am seeing the band that make me laugh, smile and cry. I am so excited and I wanted to tell you all about it.

Enjoy music and do not let anybody make you feel bad about listening to it.
