MONTHLY FAVOURITES // MARCH

Hello lovelies,
This month I've realised it's time to ditch Winter and say "hello" to Spring! It's been a hard transition as I'm quite a dark shade kinda gal and my skin has gone crazy this month - I've suffered some form of a reaction on my back and rib area somehow. Anyhow, these are the products that I've been swooning over this March.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // E45 Cream

I've seriously had to nurture my skin this month. Earlier on in the month I began getting rashes all over my back, these then became more severe and they're currently really itchy too! I was in Boots and I saw E45 and remembered that my sister used to use it to help her eczema and as a lot of people had told me this could be eczema too I decided to buy some. I use it every night before bed or just after I've had a bath/shower as that when my skin gets it's itchiest. It soothes the skin really well and cools it down. It has calmed down the itchiness and I have noticed some of the rashes slowly disappearing. I also tried this on my face a few nights ago before bed because I currently don't have a night cream and my face is awfully dry when I wake up. This makes my face so soft and I would recommend it to anyone that has sensitive/dry skin.

Garnier Micellar Cleasing Water? What on earth is that? Hmm, well I'm sure you're not asking those questions now as the hype over this product has been for the whole month. This has been my new staple cleanser in my skincare routine this month - it is a dupe for Bioderma. I apply this to take my make up off at night and to make a fresh face in the morning before applying some make up. It makes my skin feel absolutely soft which is great as I suffer from quite dry skin. You can check out my full review on this product here

MAC Impassioned // Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive
Unfortunately (not that unfortunate) I've had to say 'tah-rah' to the likes of MAC Cyber lipstick and say 'hola' to some new babies that I cheekily have bought recently! First is MAC Impassioned that I bought a few weeks back (maybe even a month back!) to embark on a journey of becoming more 'springy'. I didn't want to buy a MAC lipstick that was too neutral because I believe more of the less pricey brands do well with their neutral shades so I decided to buy this shade which is an Amplified lipstick. The shade is a gorgeous, bright pink that when applied is very soothing to the lips, doesn't dry them out and leaves a great colour. I'm very happy with this shade and it fits right in with my taste and style.

Next is the gorgeous Revlon Matte Balm. I 'nipped' into Boots on a lunch break of mine with the intention to not buy a thing and obviously I bought things. I bought the shade Elusive which in my opinion is a 'natural lip shade but not your lip shade' kind of colour. This is a gorgeous shade to wear when you don't want to be all out there or also to pair with a smokey eye! You can read my full review on this here

Real Techniques Contour Brush // Nars Laguna Bronzer

I've never really been a blush gal, but I'd stopped contouring for a while and just added a bit of bronzer on my face for a while but for Summer I love a good contour face. Partially because I naturally have a chubby face and it makes my face look sharper - always a good thing. My all-time favourite brush for contouring is Real Techniques Contour Brush which you can find in the Core Collection set. I just pop a little bit of the product on the tip of this brush, blow it to get rid of any loose product and then apply it from the top of my cheek bones in circular motions.
My trusty contour of the month is my fabulous Nars Laguna Bronzer that has served me well since July 2013 (my prom - that I wrote about here) but is sadly crumbling away and making a mess but it's still fantastic. This is what 'makes the look' in my opinion when it comes to my face. I can use this to become sun kissed if I'm just going out in the sun (because I don't naturally tan, sob) or look all glam with dramatic cheek bones - it's amazing!

China Glaze That's Shore Bright // Tanya Burr Little Duck
I've kind of been a nail junkie this month - not too bad but more than usual! After watching a haul by Miss Budget Beauty she mentioned a brand called China Glaze who I'd never heard of and she was wearing a gorgeous blue colour. She also mentioned she bought That's Shore Bright which is a purple shade and I was won over because the colour she was wearing in the video was gorgeous so surely this one would be too - it definitely was! If you check out my Instagram I've put a picture up of my nails with this colour on. The colour is beautiful and very bright. The nails dry within seconds! I am definitely planning on buying many more in the future to add to my new nail polish love! I also am hosting a giveaway that you can enter easily here to be in with the chance of winning two China Glaze polishes of your choice.

Another new love of mine is the hyped about Tanya Burr Little Duck nail polish. Originally, I wasn't a fan of this because on first application it was too clumpy and didn't dry quickly. However, I've decided that that was my fault due to putting too much of it on all at once - silly Jen - and in fact this is the perfect spring/summer shade of 2014.

What have your monthly favourites been?

Lots of Love
Jen xo
